“What’s the hype about? They’re just toaster waffles.” Those were probably your exact thoughts when you saw that I would be reviewing Trader Joes’ Blueberry Frozen Waffles. I think that a lot of the simple things in life can be overshadowed by the delicacies that are out there nowadays; hence, why I chose to shed some light on these blueberry waffles! Let’s get into the flavor, comparisons, and of course my overall thoughts on the item!

A Berry Nice Breakfast

I am the type of person who eats the same thing for breakfast day in and day out, so convincing myself to switch it up was a little hard at first. Once I got my hands on these Blueberry Waffles, my mornings were changed for the better. A lot of times with frozen waffles, you toast them and they’re still a little soggy on the sides; you have to drench them in butter and syrup for them to be worth it. These toaster waffles from Trader Joe’s however, were cooked to perfection. The blueberry flavor was even better than Eggo’s, in my opinion.

Trader Joe’s Frozen Waffles vs. Eggos Debate

The classic Eggo toaster waffle has been on the shelves of grocery stores far longer than Trader Joe’s product. However, I think that TJ’s Blueberry Waffle is hands-down better than an Eggo, and here’s why. With Eggos, you are tasting the hint of blueberry that is incorporated with the original Buttermilk waffle. Trader Joe’s blueberry waffle’s base has a stronger blueberry flavor, with individual blueberries also in the waffle. A win, win!

The Results Are In!

Clearly I think that Trader Joe’s Blueberry Waffles are superior to Eggo’s, but what are my thoughts on the product as a staple breakfast item? A midday snack? Maybe even as a comfort food? I would tell YOU to grab a box of these convenient and delicious waffles because you never know when you’ll catch yourself craving one! They may not be something that you’ll feel like for breakfast every morning, but they sure are a good thing to have in your freezer when you get a hankering for one!
